Answer
I have never talked about superstitions with friends until now but I think it is good topic to communicate or discuss about it. Because it is very different from country to country. It is very interesting.
And I think superstitopns are part of custom.

Is communication affected by superstitions?
Answer
I think so. For example, when I get a wistle without a thought at night, my grandmother must say "Stop it! A snake come. "
If I don't know this superstition or I don't notice it is superstition, communication is finished.

Do you believe in Japanese superstitions? If so, what superstitions, what do they mean and why do you do,use, or believe in them?
Answer
I believe in and use some Japanese superstitions. Because my grandmother always say when I was a little child. And some Japanese superstitions will be joke so I use.
☆You will get better if you give your cold to another person.
☆ Your hair will grows if you eat seaweed.
☆Snakes will come if you get a wistle at night.
☆You will die if you cannot stop hiccup 100 times.

I think sometimes Japanese superstitions are used by a joke, too! sometimes it is comming up in a conversation between friends or family like when I get cold, my friend says you should give my cold to my boyfriend or something like that so you can get out of it.
